Don't worry, I won't let you forget to pick up your FREE, Gratis, Nil copy of Danny Boy this weekend!
Currently it is ranked at # 42 in the Amazon Top 100 Chart (Free, Short Story) - can you help it get to # 1??
During the last free promotion, it got to # 16 in just ONE day - this time, you have a whole TWO days to make it happen!
Here's a little snippet for you:
Danny and I had spent many hours pouring through university prospectuses, before choosing the final choices for my application. It was bitter-sweet; we were both excited for the future, but sad because we knew Danny couldn't follow me – another grey building with concrete playing fields denying him access to the life freely open to me.
On the morning of my exam results Danny and I sat cross legged on the grass verge at the bottom of my long front garden, not speaking and barely breathing. It felt like hours before we heard the faint ‘click, click, click’ of the postman’s bike coming down the lane. I wanted to freeze time then, and I think Danny did too. He looked at me sadly, and I had to look away. This was it. The contents of the envelope making its way to me right this minute could mean taking me far, far away from my Danny boy. We both knew it.
