For publishers, press and any other professional body, I have created an ePress Kit for Danny Boy.
I will update the Press Kit when there is a new release from me so that people can contact me for professional purposes and the press can see information about that work.

"This is such a beautiful story of great friendship without prejudice and unconditioned love. I had Goosebumps throughout the story and I was surprised when tears started pulling down my cheeks in the end. But you know what, I feel sorry for those people who didn’t open up to Danny and couldn’t see past his ‘condition’, because they missed out – not him."
** FROM 9.30PM GMT TONIGHT (24/09/2013) 50% OF PROCEEDS FOR DANNY BOY WILL BE DONATED TO MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT ** PLEASE HELP SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS FANTASTIC ORGANISATION **
This short story is a tale of friendship through the eyes of Catherine, who looks back on her childhood with her best friend, Danny.
Catherine becomes aware from a young age that she and Danny are different, that people look at them differently. It isn't until she is faced with the prejudice of her own mother that she comes to realise that not all people can see through the mask of disability in the way that she does.
Comments about Danny Boy:
5* "Beautiful and well written story about a true friendship! Brought tears to my eyes! Very refreshing and I look forward to more from this author!"
5* "Very glad I did (buy this), cracking little read (in a non schmaltzy way) that brings into perspective without preaching or talking down to the reader. Obviously very personal to the author - but no lesser a read for that."
I am putting together a collection of short stories and flash fiction to release as a paperback for all you technophobes who are dubious about entering into the world of eBooks!
I will let you know more details closer to the time, but if you would like to reserve a copy you can contact me on here or by using the email, Facebook or Twitter icons on this page.
I will contact you personally with details of when and how you can purchase the paperbacks.
Wow, so I was racking my brain trying to figure out what to post - I feel bad for not posting much here over the last couple of weeks.
In my procrastination I decided to add up a few things.
In the last 60 days since this page went live it has been viewed a massive 5,300+ times!! That's more than 88 views per day - and when you consider that I haven't posted very much in the last 2-3 weeks I think it is pretty impressive!!
The Facebook page has 61 'likes' (come ooooon! You can do better than that!) and has reached 2,220 people in the last month alone! I have 72 'followers' on Twitter.
There are 15 reviews on Amazon so far and I've lost count of reviews and comments given via the website and Facebook. 69 copies of the book have been down loaded in 5 countries in the last 15 days alone!
DANNY BOY is my first release and is the story of Catherine and her childhood friend, Danny. This story looks at disability through the eyes of a child and has been very popular with those who have read it so far. I have been asked several times if this is a true story, but although the emotions are very close to my heart, the actual story is fictional.
Reviews:
"Beautiful and well written story about a true friendship! Brought tears to my eyes! Very refreshing and I look forward to more from this author!"
"I chose the rating because it was excellent. Went through happiness, sadness and feeling pleased that I chose to read it.Hope there is another book on the way."
"Written by a friend who I went to school with, so thought I would give it a go. Lovely read, made me teary at times, can't wait for more from Laura."
"Was pointed towards this book on one of the Facebook pages I am on --and I thought ( as it was free at the time) " Why not" -- very glad I did , cracking little read ( in a non schmaltzy way) that brings things into perspective without preaching or talking down to the reader. Obviously very personal to the authouress - but no lesser a read for that."
"What a beautiful story, such a sad ending but wrote beautifully, didn't want to stop reading it and cried at the end."
"I've just read Danny Boy - what an emotional story. It feels so very real that I wonder if this is an actual memoir of yours as opposed to a work of fiction? I really feel the connection between you and Danny and you establish a very special friendship even though it's only a short story. The ending is particularly sad and I feel that you dealt with Danny's death with great maturity. It was a beautiful scene. I'm looking forward to reading The Hunter next!"
Those of you who pop in regularly will have noted that I have not made very many posts over the last week.
Last weekend I attended a hen party which was great fun and so understandably I was unable to blog or post that weekend. We went to Bristol, UK and took part in some 'farmer games' such as welly wanging and a cider run (no cider involved, sadly).
I came home Sunday afternoon thoroughly exhausted and was in bed and asleep by 9.30pm!
On Monday I got some devastating news about my Mum, she has been diagnosed with womb and stomach cancer and although we have been told that the outlook is good, writing and blogging has been far from my mind.
My Mum is the cement which holds our family together and so the thought of her being unwell has knocked us all for six. However, she is stubborn, strong and she is above all else a fighter. I have no doubt that she will be here to give me a firm kick up the bum for many, many years to come.
So on that note, I suppose I better get some writing done before she starts nagging me to read the next part of The Visitor!
Thank you to those of you who have purchased my books over the last week.
There are also new reviews on Amazon for The Hunter and The Boy so thank you very much for taking the time to stop by and post those to the Amazon pages.
The Visitor is coming along nicely and I hope to have news on the release date for you by the end of this month.
Your continued support means a great deal to me and I appreciate all of the ways you find to do this, be it by buying/downloading the books, leaving reviews or comments or by simply popping by to take a look at the website or the Facebook page.
I know I have been quiet over the last week but I will be back with a vengeance very soon!
