DANNY BOY is my first release and is the story of Catherine and her childhood friend, Danny. This story looks at disability through the eyes of a child and has been very popular with those who have read it so far. I have been asked several times if this is a true story, but although the emotions are very close to my heart, the actual story is fictional.
Reviews:
"Beautiful and well written story about a true friendship! Brought tears to my eyes! Very refreshing and I look forward to more from this author!"
"I chose the rating because it was excellent. Went through happiness, sadness and feeling pleased that I chose to read it.Hope there is another book on the way."
"Written by a friend who I went to school with, so thought I would give it a go. Lovely read, made me teary at times, can't wait for more from Laura."
"Was pointed towards this book on one of the Facebook pages I am on --and I thought ( as it was free at the time) " Why not" -- very glad I did , cracking little read ( in a non schmaltzy way) that brings things into perspective without preaching or talking down to the reader.
Obviously very personal to the authouress - but no lesser a read for that."
"What a beautiful story, such a sad ending but wrote beautifully, didn't want to stop reading it and cried at the end."
"I've just read Danny Boy - what an emotional story. It feels so very real that I wonder if this is an actual memoir of yours as opposed to a work of fiction?
I really feel the connection between you and Danny and you establish a very special friendship even though it's only a short story. The ending is particularly sad and I feel that you dealt with Danny's death with great maturity. It was a beautiful scene.
I'm looking forward to reading The Hunter next!"
