What a great day!
Some of you have already been busy in the Amazon store I see, but for those who haven't yet seen: The Hunter is FREE all day today! The Boy is NOW AVAILABLE! And to celebrate both, the covers of my books have been redesigned! Click on the buttons below to go to the Amazon UK store and get your copies now; if you are outside the UK simply go to your local Amazon website and search Whiskens and your will find all three of my books. THE HUNTER will be FREE tomorrow (Sunday 18th August) tomorrow only!
This is to coincide with the release of the second book in this collection, The Boy! Grab your copy tomorrow then get The Boy as well. One request though, PLEASE leave a review! It's comments from readers which get us writers noticed! Thank you in advance for your support :) I'm very excited to tell you that The Boy, the second short story in The Hunter series, is finally finished!
It is currently being proof-read and will have a final edit before being released, but that should be very soon! I'm off to design the front cover! Hello!
Do you like sci-fi books? Well my very good friend has a sale on his work this weekend! His The World of the Touched series follows a group of 'touched' who have special abilities. The Touched is the first book and will be FREE all weekend! Paragons, the second book in the series is on SALE at £1.30! Head on over to your local Amazon page now and search Colin Frankel, or if you are in the UK simply click on the button below! Please remember to go back to the Amazon page and leave a review once you've read them - your comments mean their weight in gold to us writers! This is just a quick note to draw your attention to the new Social Media page which is now streaming a live feed to my Twitter account.
You will also find the links to my Facebook and email address. Happy Friday to you all! So after a well-earned 'night off' yesterday, I am rested and ready to write some more!
I hope you like what you see when it's all ready; in the meantime don't forget to pop over to Amazon and pick up Danny Boy and The Hunter. And please - please! - if you have read them and like them, please do remember to leave a review on Amazon as this will (hopefully) encourage others to buy them! They are just £0.77p / $0.99 each, so what have you got to lose?! Thank you for your support xx It's hard to believe the website has been live for a whole month already - and that so many people have stopped by to have a look!
A big thank you to you all for tuning in each day to look at the website and read the blog, it's incredible to think so much has been achieved already. So far in my journey as a writer my two short stories, Danny Boy and The Hunter have sold 121 copies in 4 countries; and there have been over 3,300 views on the website, and in just a couple of days there are 47 'likes' on the Facebook page! Danny Boy also reached number 16 in the Amazon Kindle top 100 short story (free) chart in July! As I mentioned in previous posts, I am currently working on a ghost story - The Visitor - as well as a follow up to The Hunter. I am also drafting two new novels - The Memory Box and 19:58, which you can read more about in the 'My Books' pages on this site. AND I am also in the early stages of planning for a novel aimed at young adults which I hope to submit in a competition in February 2014. I will of course keep you all up to date with progress and release dates as they occur. Thank you again to you all for your support. Laura xx Me again!
I forgot to mention in my previous blog entry... this website is one month old tomorrow!! So far there have been 3,375 views of the page - which is an average of 125 per day since it began! Thank you to every one who has paid a visit; imagine a virtual wave from me to you! See you tomorrow! On my way home tonight I was driving along pondering the information gained from my target audience for the competition novel and I had a light bulb moment!
I now know the genre and set up of the novel! I won't share details of this one with you until it has been entered in February (we don't want my competitors to get wind of it do we!!), but needless to say I am very excited! Don't worry, this won't interfere with The Hunter follow up, or my new novel - I will just have to work extra hard on all three projects! To my knowledge, the set up I am planning hasn't been done this way before - but, while I do read a lot, I haven't read every book in the world so I could be wrong! Thank you to Mae, Hannah, Elizabeth and Phoebe for your very helpful input, and to the others who contacted me! Have a lovely evening all. |
